Preparing your furniture for painting

Before you paint with Frenchic:

One of the beauties of Frenchic is that you don't need to use a primer before painting but you DO need to prep!

By that I mean that your item needs to be clean and keyed, be it a PVC door, kitchen cupboards, Grandma's old bureau or your Ikea table. The rule of thumb is to wash with sugar soap to rid of dirt, grease, grime, nicotine etc, rinsing well and thoroughly drying then lightly sand using a fine grade sandpaper or sanding sponge to 'key' the paint (to enable it to adhere).

Wipe away any dust from sanding and the surface is now clean, keyed and ready for paint.
