I'm constantly being asked for perfect stencilling tips, so here goes . . . • Firstly, seal your piece and allow to dry. Sealing first will allow you to wipe the stencil off easily without damaging your paintwork if you make a mistake. • With your stencil in place (I use a low-tack masking tape or spray mount to secure) dip a soft, small, short bristle stippling brush into the paint and knock most of the paint off onto paper towel. • Hold your brush at a 90-degree angle (straight up) to the stencil and gently stipple. So Wednesday 28th June was another exciting day in the world of Doodledash. The owners of Frenchic are always striving to improve the awareness of Frenchic to the world and today was a pretty amazing way to do it. Hosted by Frenchic's PR company, Belle PR, it was held in a swanky loft room in Soho, London. Lots of bloggers and press people were invited to attend and boy did they, in numbers! Chalk Paint - Shabby Chic Piano

I was delighted to be approached by The Piano Shop, Bath to work on a shabby chic collaboration with this oak, barley twist piano. We decided to keep it quite neutral, to appeal to the largest market, and plumped for one of the Frenchic greys with a white wax finish to enhance all the fabulous detailing. It's been great working on something a bit different and I'm looking forward to further collaborations with the Piano Shop. Maybe, we'll go for a shade braver next time!
